In modern industrial process engineering, thermal equipment efficiency is tightly bound to the mechanical integrity of the tubes. The global trend is shifting away from traditional carbon steels toward low-carbon molybdenum-stabilized alloys and duplex structures. This shift is driven by the demand for higher temperatures, increased flow rates, and resistance to aggressive cleaning cycles.

Why 316L (UNS S31603) is the Industry Standard for Exchanger Tubing

316L stainless steel contains a low carbon content (maximum 0.03%) which prevents chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries during welding processes. This feature eliminates intergranular corrosion risks. The crucial addition of 2.0% to 3.0% Molybdenum drastically improves the alloy's resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-bearing solutions compared to standard 304 grade. This makes it the standard specification for marine coolers, food processing, and chemical handling.

Beyond 316L: Super Alloys and Duplex Alternatives

When operating parameters exceed the limitations of 316L—particularly in high chloride offshore environments or critical chemical reactors—design engineers turn to high-alloy alternatives:

  • Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205): Provides twice the mechanical strength of typical austenitic steels and possesses superb resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
  • Super Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750): Designed for highly aggressive chemical processes with a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) above 40.

Liaocheng Sihe is equipped with an advanced online bright annealing system. Unlike conventional heat treatment methods that leave surface scales requiring pickling, bright annealing operates under a controlled atmosphere of pure hydrogen/nitrogen. This process relieves manufacturing stresses, softens the stainless steel, and retains a clean, mirror-like inner and outer surface finish. This clean surface is essential to prevent contamination and localized crevice corrosion in service.

To verify structural integrity before delivery, all pipes undergo a series of mechanical and non-destructive tests:

  • Pneumatic & Hydrostatic Testing: 100% air-tightness testing at high pressures to verify there are no micro-leaks along the tube wall.
  • Mechanical Integrity Inspections: Flaring and flattening tests to verify weld seam ductility, along with micro-hardness and tensile strength tests.

What are your prices?
Our prices are subject to change depending on supply and other market factors. We will send you an updated price list after your company contact us for further information.
Do you have a minimum order quantity?
Yes, we require all international orders to have an ongoing minimum order quantity. If you are looking to resell but in much smaller quantities, we recommend you check out our website.
Can you supply the relevant documentation?
Yes, we can provide most documentation including Certificates of Analysis / Conformance; Insurance; Origin, and other export documents where required.
What is the average lead time?
For samples, the lead time is about 7 days. For mass production, the lead time is 20-30 days after receiving the deposit payment. The lead times become effective when (1) we have received your deposit, and (2) we have your final approval for your products. If our lead times do not work with your deadline, please go over your requirements with your sale. In all cases we will try to accommodate your needs. In most cases we are able to do so.
What kinds of payment methods do you accept?
You can make the payment to our bank account, Western Union or PayPal: 30% deposit in advance, 70% balance against the copy of B/L.
What is the product warranty?
We warranty our materials and workmanship. Our commitment is to your satisfaction with our products. In warranty or not, it is the culture of our company to address and resolve all customer issues to everyone’s satisfaction.
Do you guarantee safe and secure delivery of products?
Yes, we always use high quality export packaging. We also use specialized hazard packing for dangerous goods and validated cold storage shippers for temperature sensitive items. Specialist packaging and non-standard packing requirements may incur an additional charge.
How about the shipping fees?
The shipping cost depends on the way you choose to get the goods. Express is normally the most quickest but also most expensive way. By seafreight is the best solution for big amounts.
