Grade 304 is the classic 18/8 austenitic stainless steel. Containing approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel, it offers excellent corrosion resistance, high ductility, and exceptional formability. When drawn into continuous coiled configurations, 304 stainless steel exhibits excellent mechanical properties suited for structural and hydraulic networks.
For critical applications involving welding or elevated operational temperatures, we recommend 304L (Low Carbon), which prevents sensitization to intergranular corrosion by avoiding chromium carbide precipitation along the grain boundaries.
