Why Choose Seamless Coiled Tubing?

Seamless coiled tubing is the number one choice in most critical applications because it eliminates the risk of impurities often associated with welded coiled tubing.

  • Available in custom continuous lengths
  • Improves overall system safety and operational reliability
  • Provides greater resistance to localized corrosion
  • Reduces the number of fittings required, minimizing potential leak points and long-term connection failures
  • Lowers installation costs by reducing alignment time, fittings, and welding efforts

We possess more than ten years of experience in exporting high-quality stainless steel tube products worldwide.

Description: Our production of stainless steel coils spans a ten-year history. Operating two complete production lines, we produce continuous welded pipes utilizing leading-edge manufacturing technology. Through the implementation of world first-class online bright annealing technology, we perform continuous inline softening treatments for stainless steel pipes. Introduction to Grade 316 and 316L

Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing grade, second in importance to grade 304 among austenitic stainless steels. The chemical addition of molybdenum provides Grade 316 with superior overall corrosion resistant properties compared to Grade 304, showing particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in harsh chloride environments.

Grade 316L is the low-carbon version of Grade 316, making it highly immune to sensitization (grain boundary carbide precipitation). Consequently, it is extensively used in heavy gauge welded components (typically over 6mm). There is commonly no significant price difference between 316 and 316L stainless steel grades.

The stable austenitic microstructure also provides these grades with exceptional toughness, maintaining excellent properties even down to cryogenic temperature ranges.

Compared to standard chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels, 316L stainless steel offers higher creep resistance, stress-to-rupture limits, and superior tensile strength at elevated operating temperatures.

Key Properties

These properties are specified for flat-rolled products (plate, sheet, and coil) in ASTM A240/A240M. Similar but not necessarily identical properties are specified for other product configurations, such as pipe, tubing, and bar, in their respective individual specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the main differences between Grade 316 and Grade 316L?
Grade 316L is the low-carbon version of 316. The lower carbon content prevents harmful carbide precipitation during welding, making 316L immune to sensitization and ideal for use in heavy-gauge welded components without requiring post-weld annealing.
Why is seamless coiled tubing preferred over welded coiled tubing?
Seamless coiled tubing does not feature a longitudinal weld seam, eliminating the risk of impurities and weld-line defects. It offers higher pressure capacity, improved system safety, better corrosion resistance, and reduces leak potentials by minimizing structural joints.
What size ranges are typically available for stainless steel coiled tubing?
Common outer diameters range from 6.52 mm to 20 mm (or 1/8" to 1/2" imperial sizes), with wall thicknesses ranging between 0.2 mm and 2.0 mm. Custom continuous lengths can be supplied up to 3500 meters per coil.
What industries utilize stainless steel coiled tubing?
Stainless steel coiled tubes are widely used in critical sectors including food and beverage processing, petrochemical transmission, CNG piping networks, geothermal systems, industrial condensers, oil and gas instrument lines, and refrigeration systems.
What testing procedures do these coiled tubes undergo to ensure quality?
The coiled tubes undergo comprehensive tests such as compression testing, flaring and bending tests, 100% hardness evaluations, tensile strength testing, and strict air tightness inspections to confirm material integrity under high-pressure conditions.
