Sihe Steel
Advanced ASTM standard exchanger tubes configured for Bulgarian thermal power and refining sectors.
Bulgaria's positioning as a strategic energy and industrial gateway in Southeast Europe has driven a significant modernization phase across its heavy industries. High-temperature and corrosive processes require advanced piping systems to assure operational safety and system efficiency.
Key industrial centers such as the Burgas Petrochemical Basin (home to the largest refinery in the Balkans), the chemical production complexes in Devnya, and the massive thermal power infrastructures in the Maritsa Iztok complex require heat exchangers capable of resisting harsh chemical environments. In these locations, traditional 304 and even 316L stainless steel pipes often reach their threshold limits regarding pitting and crevice corrosion, making ASTM A269 / A312 TP317/317L the engineering standard of choice.
Refinery Maintenance Cycles: Refineries in Burgas require consistent turnarounds with rapid supply of corrosion-resistant, high-molybdenum tubing to avoid costly unscheduled outages.
Fertilizer & Acids Processing: Plants in Devnya processing phosphoric and sulfuric acids depend on UNS S31700/S31703 (317/317L) alloy compositions to resist acid-induced pitting.
Compliance Standards: Bulgarian infrastructure integrates strict EU Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) regulations, forcing designers to source certified materials with fully traceable heat codes.
Why 317 Stainless Steel outperforms standard structural grades in aggressive heat exchanger circuits.
Grade 317 contains 3.0% to 4.0% molybdenum (compared to 2.0% in 316L). This added molybdenum increases the material's resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion under high chloride concentrations, making it well-suited for industrial cooling water circuits that utilize brackish water or municipal waste streams.
The Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) indicates a stainless steel's relative resistance to localized corrosion. Grade 317L achieves a PREN of 23.0 to 25.0, whereas Grade 316L is typically 20.0. This difference represents a significant improvement in service life when exposed to acidic condensate and high temperatures.
By keeping carbon below 0.030%, 317L reduces the risk of chromium carbide precipitation during welding. This allows the material to retain its corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of welded exchanger pipe configurations without requiring post-weld annealing.
| Grade (UNS) | Carbon (C) % max | Chromium (Cr) % | Nickel (Ni) % | Molybdenum (Mo) % | PREN Value (Approx.) |

Established as a premier manufacturer of high-alloy tubing, we operate six advanced production lines dedicated to the manufacture of premium stainless steel coiled tubing, precision polished tubes, and seamless industrial pipes. We manufacture strictly according to GB, ASTM, ASME, JIS, and EN standards to ensure reliable performance in demanding environments.
Our core metallurgy expertise spans grades like 304/304L, 316L, 321, 317L, 309S, 310S, INCOLOY 800, Duplex 2205, Super Duplex 2507, Incoloy 825, and Inconel 625. Our products are exported to over 30 countries across the US, Germany, Spain, South America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, including major municipal and petrochemical developments in Sofia and Varna, Bulgaria.
With our specialized bright annealing line, we achieve precise softening treatment online, providing tubes that are ready for tight bends, flaring, and installation into complex shell-and-tube or spiral heat exchangers.
Combining automated production benches with comprehensive Quality Assurance testing loop processes.
Our drawing benches use automated systems to control dimensional tolerances to within ±0.05 mm. This facilitates a precise fit into tubesheets at local fabrication facilities in Bulgaria, reducing welding prep time.
100% of our products undergo non-destructive testing (NDT), including online eddy current and hydrostatic testing, to verify integrity prior to dispatch. This is designed to assure performance under high pressures.
We leverage coordinated shipping routes from the Port of Qingdao directly to the Port of Varna or Port of Burgas. We handle necessary customs documentation to support prompt delivery schedules.
