SS304 (UNS S30400) relies on a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. This chemical combination creates a stable austenitic phase that remains non-magnetic and highly ductile across a broad temperature range. By managing carbon levels, we prevent the formation of grain-boundary chromium carbides, which can lead to intergranular corrosion under high temperatures.
Our manufacturing process includes a controlled acid bath that triggers the formation of a passive chromium oxide (CrโOโ) layer. This transparent, self-repairing layer resists chloride-induced pitting, general atmospheric corrosion, and organic compound damage.
