Austenitic alloy 316 (and low-carbon 316L) contains 16-18% Chromium, 10-14% Nickel, and 2-3% Molybdenum, providing superb pitting resistance in harsh chloride-rich operations.

ASTM A269 designates seamless and welded nominal-wall-thickness tubing for general service applications. In critical industrial applications, the TP316/TP316L grade stands out due to the integration of Molybdenum. The low carbon content in 316L (under 0.03%) prevents carbide precipitation during welding processes, ensuring that the tubing retains its chemical integrity and structural toughness in HAZ (Heat Affected Zones). This makes it highly resistant to intergranular corrosion. Furthermore, its Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) ranging between 23 and 25 guarantees reliability against localized crevice attacks and pitting in saline and acidic solutions.
To eliminate internal stresses and restore ductility post-cold drawing, we utilize state-of-the-art oxygen-free online bright annealing technology. Operating within a high-purity hydrogen atmosphere at temperatures exceeding 1050°C, the carbon and oxide deposits on the stainless steel are completely reduced. This process results in a scale-free, mirror-bright surface finish on both the inner diameter (ID) and outer diameter (OD). This ultra-clean surface prevents fluid friction, minimizes particulate contamination, and ensures high compatibility with high-purity applications, such as those found in the biopharmaceutical and semiconductor industries.
