409 Stainless Steel (UNS S40900 / EN 1.4512 / JIS SUH409) is a titanium-stabilized ferritic alloy primarily recognized for its excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion at high temperatures. In comparison to higher-alloy alternatives, grade 409 provides cost-effective durability, making it the industry standard for high-volume applications where basic corrosion protection and oxidation performance up to 675°C (continuous) or 815°C (intermittent) are required.
The introduction of a polished surface profile to 409 tubing does not merely satisfy aesthetic criteria; it is a critical engineering requirement.
