Unlike standard grade 304, 301 features lowered chromium (16.0–18.0%) and nickel (6.0–8.0%) contents. During cold rolling, the parent face-centered cubic (FCC) austenite structure transforms systematically into body-centered tetragonal (BCT) martensite. All international sheet, plate, and coiled orders are packed using reinforced steel cradles, vapor-corrosion-inhibiting (VCI) liners, and heavy wooden crates. This protection helps prevent mechanical vibration damage and marine environment corrosion during transit.
